Final Granulate Ambrosia Beetle Update

— Written By
By Danny Lauderdale. I still trapped numerous granulate ambrosia beetles over the weekend in central eastern NC. Based on dialogue with Dr. Steve Frank you may want to apply at least one more pyrethroid (like bifenthrin or permethrin) application on susceptible species if they suffered cold injury or are in poorly drained production conditions (ovoid poorly drained areas in the future). We should be past the worst of potential attacks by the end of May. Extra applications will not be needed on red maples if making applications for potato leaf hopper.
