Description
One of our most common native ladybeetles, both the adults and larvae are predatory on aphids as well as a variety of other small insects. The adults and larvae can be found in a variety of habitats, wherever aphids occur in larger numbers.

Oval, concave on top, flat underneath. Small, clubbed antennae. Pink triangle shape on head, Pink color with 14 black spots on thorax and abdomen.
Larvae
Black, spiny alligator-like bodies with two orange vase-like markings on the thorax, and two orange transverse bands on the abdomen, with the one closest to the head being incomplete. Legs that appear sharp and footless at the ends.
